Garden Diary: The Burgundy Bonanza!

Following our recent 10″ heavy, wet snowfall I am surprised anything autumnal is left. But there is. And quite noticeably what survived the best seems to all be varying shades of burgundy!

Today is a seasonable 51° and beautiful sunny skies.

Pierus japonica

Dwarf Burning Bush

Red Maple

This may be a stretch to call it burgundy...but how did this purple coneflower survive all that snow??

It’s a beautiful warm color! Maybe it’s warming you up for winter?

I missed our snowfall…well, not missed it as in I wanted to see it, but I wasn’t around for it. Believe me I’m glad for it! We also still have leaves on trees and shrubs. What wacky weather!

  3. No changing colors yet here. Leaves are falling, but they are still green.

  4. Any colour but white is welcome, these are heart-warming…promises of spring. “:)
