Wooly Acres Reading Room

Reading ruminations take a biblical turn in this week’s review.

Corrupting the Image by Douglas Hamp (adult; Christian apologetics/speculation) This book is about possibilities. The author’s speculations are consistent with the biblical text, though he extrapolates. He covers how the fall of man actually impacted human DNA and how this appears today, followed by a possible scenario for what the saints’ glorified bodies would look like in the future.

He also shows, I think very accurately, how Satan has intervened throughout history in the attempt to destroy God’s beloved creation, mankind created in His image, and tried to thwart God’s redemption of mankind. From the serpent in the garden, to the irruption of the sons of God in Genesis 6, to the land of Canaan populated with Nephilim, etc. The attempts of Satan to change the future so that he might be like the Most High (Is 14:14) are non-stop through history.

The first half of the book is highly speculative, though interesting, and the second half is insightful and accurate. I only recommend this if this type of book appeals.

I saw this book in the library, but I didn’t know what it was about. I’ll have to check it out….course I’m already knee deep in 4 other books. LOL
So much reading and so little time.
    Thanks for the review.
