Pride of the Susquehanna

Yesterday it was about 97° when we set out on our adventure on the Susquehanna River. It had cooled down from the day’s high of 101°. Surely this was a good evening for a boat ride!

Julie in front of the Pride of the Susquehanna on City Island. Harrisburg is in the background.

Dave with our first course.

The Entertainment. It was supposed to be a murder mystery. Three people read scripts from a binder loaded with bawdy humor and light on plot. The two drunk ladies next to us thought it was hysterical.

It was hot, so we went up top for some fresh air. We saw all of Harrisburg's many bridges.

Turns out it was much hotter outside and there was NO breeze-- notice the flags whipping in the wind....

It was fun watching the paddles turn.

I am glad we went but it would have been just as well to go on the 45 minute plain cruise instead of the over-priced dinner “theater”.

I love boat rides! Loud drunk people…not so much! 🙂

Thanks for the fotos. Not a great day for a boatride….or anything else outside lately. Too bad about the entertainment….not very good PR for this attraction (which we thought we’d like to do sometime…..this fall, perhaps?) Will take your advice and just stick with the boat ride.
