Doesn’t everyone else pick cucumbers from their trees?
We had a cucumber vine, of the pickler variety, leave the garden and climb up the branch of a neighboring tree. We saw it happening and let it go to see what it would do. Well it made cucumbers up there! The first one to develop in the tree is about 9′ up. Dave had to really stretch for that one…
As we congratulated ourselves for the successful plucking, we looked up further….uhoh….we’re gonna need a ladder for THAT one.

Pickle trees, what are they going to come up with next? I guess if you can grow tomatoes upside down you can have a pickle tree also.
LOL
Oh, dear! And I thought the pumpkin I saw growing in the PeeGee Hydrangea was strange! Hee-hee!
I’ve seen a squash plant that grew about 10′ up into a tree but there was no fruitage from it. I guess that’s a thought for small garden spaces – go vertical (and keep a ladder handy)!
